Bill’s working career began in stockbroking in 1982.
During his time in London he was ranked No.1 Retail Analyst in all institutional surveys for some years and was involved in numerous flotations and takeovers whilst being an advisor to many of the leading quoted retailers. In 1994 Bill moved back to Liverpool to become Managing Director of Charterhouse Securities (Liverpool and London) under which time Charterhouse became the top Smaller to Mid Cap Company Stockbroker in the UK.
Upon leaving stockbroking, Bill founded his family investment office, The William Currie Group, and The Fragrance Shop. The Fragrance Shop was grown to a chain of over 100 stores until it was sold, whilst the investment business has evolved from mainly investing in quoted companies to now focussing on fast growth E-Commerce and Tech businesses. Bill is a Director of, or has board representatives on, market leading businesses such as Metapack, Eagle Eye, Anatwine, Work Angel, Purple Wifi, Wranx and many others.
